The bats were supposed to be Zubat (Pokemon) but I kinda messed up on them ^^;
Link's appearance is a combination of Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time (plus a dash of my own style)
Anyway, the idea behind this comic is that Mario and Luigi pretty much have a monopoly on plumbing jobs in Video Game Land. :P
